
Kelly Clarkson was the American Dream's personification when she won American Idol's first season. Kelly Clarkson believed that anyone could come from any place and become a celebrity. This created something American could hold on to and, more importantly, buy. The first album she released had a huge success following a switch to a different label and having the control of her voice the second album went on to become one of the biggest-selling albums by "American Idol" former contestant. The highlights of her career include traveling extensively and recording a number of Top Ten songs, publishing two multi-Platinum albums, as well as being an instructor and writing much of the music she has written. She also has many honors. She has won four American Music Awards were presented to her, as well as 12 Billboard Music Awards. She has also won two Grammy Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. So far, she's earned 98 major awards for music nominations, and won seventy of these.
