Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@/ 'goUmez/s@–LEE/ GOH-m 22 July 1992) was an American performer, actress, and producer. Gomez started her acting career with the popular children's TV show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager she became famous in the role of Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez was also a part of several films that included Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) as well as Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor for Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez executive produced the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez has received praise from critics for the series, as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez released three albums with her former band Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene. All three albums made it into the top ten in the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010), and When the Sun is Down (2011). Her debut album as a solo artist, Stars Dance (2013), topped the U.S. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album called Stars Dance (2013). The album's lead single, "Come & Get It" reached the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez has released Revival (2015) the second studio album. The album debuted at the top spot in the US and was later certified platinum. Three top ten US tracks were made out of Revival: "Good for You" and the "Same Old Love" single, and "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020), Gomez's third studio album was her third consecutive top 10 album in the US. The single that was the lead single, "Lose You, to Love Me" was her first top-ten hit in the US. Revelacion is her EP in Spanish is due out in 2021. She received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won many awards like the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. In addition, she set fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most influential people in the World in 2020. She has a large following on social media, and is the most followed actor and musician on Instagram. Her other ventures include clothing, makeup bags, perfume and handbag brands.
